What Is UPVC Restoration?

UPVC restoration is the process of bringing faded, discoloured, or damaged UPVC surfaces back to their original condition. Over time, sun, rain, and general wear take their toll on UPVC. It loses its colour, the surface dulls, and small scratches or marks start to show.

Rather than ripping everything out and starting again, we use specialist techniques to clean, repair, and restore the surface. This brings back the shine, removes stains, and makes your UPVC look new again.

We work on windows, doors, conservatories, fascias, soffits, and any other UPVC surfaces around your home. If it's plastic and it's looking past its best, we can help.

Why Choose Restoration Over Replacement?

Replacing UPVC windows costs between 300 and 600 pounds per window for standard casement styles, with larger or speciality windows costing significantly more. For a full house, you're looking at several thousand pounds, plus the disruption of having work done for days or even weeks.

Restoration costs a fraction of that. You get professional results in a day or two, with no mess, no building work, and no waiting around for new frames to arrive.

Here's what you save by restoring instead of replacing:

Money: Restoration typically costs 50 to 70 per cent less than full replacement. For most homes, that's a saving of thousands.

Time: We complete most restoration jobs in one to two days. No scaffolding, no waiting for deliveries, no dealing with multiple tradespeople.

Hassle: Everything stays in place. We work on-site, clean up after ourselves, and leave you with UPVC that looks as good as new.

The environment: Keeping your existing frames out of landfill makes a real difference. Restoration is the greener choice.

If your UPVC is structurally sound but just needs a refresh, restoration makes far more sense than replacement.

We work on windows, doors, conservatories, fascias, soffits, and any other UPVC surfaces around your home. If it's plastic and it's looking past its best, we can help.

What We Restore

We work on all types of UPVC surfaces. The most common jobs we handle are:

Window frames: White UPVC windows that have yellowed or gone grey from years of sun exposure. We clean, treat, and restore them to a bright white finish.

Doors: Front doors, back doors, patio doors. If they're faded, scratched, or stained, we bring them back.

Conservatories: Conservatory frames take a real battering from the sun. We restore the whole structure, including frames, fascias, and guttering.

Fascias and soffits: The UPVC trim around your roofline. We remove algae, staining, and discolouration to make it look clean and fresh again.

Cladding: Any UPVC cladding on your property. We clean it, treat it, and protect it from future damage.

Whatever UPVC you have, if it's looking tired, we can restore it.

How Long Does UPVC Restoration Last?

A proper restoration job should last for years. With the right products and techniques, we add a protective layer that helps your UPVC resist UV rays, weather damage, and general wear.

Most UPVC windows last between 20 and 35 years if they're looked after properly. If your frames are already 10 or 15 years old but still structurally sound, restoration can give them another decade or more of good service.

The finish we apply is durable, easy to clean, and designed to cope with British weather. You won't need to worry about it fading or peeling after a few months.

Regular cleaning helps, but you don't need to do anything special. Just wipe down your frames a couple of times a year with warm soapy water, and they'll stay looking good.

Our UPVC Restoration Process

We don't cut corners. Every job follows the same careful process to make sure you get results that last.

Step one: We inspect the UPVC and identify any damage, staining, or areas that need extra attention. This lets us plan the work properly.

Step two: We clean the surface thoroughly using specialist UPVC cleaners. This removes dirt, algae, and any loose material.

Step three: We carry out any repairs needed. Small chips, scratches, or damaged sections are fixed before we move on.

Step four: We apply a UPVC restoration treatment that brings back the colour and shine. This is done by hand to make sure every part of the frame is covered properly.

Step five: We apply a protective coating that seals the surface and helps it resist future damage from sun, rain, and pollution.

Step six: We inspect the finished work, clean up, and make sure you're happy with everything before we leave.

The whole process is done on-site. We bring everything we need, and we tidy up when we're finished.

When Should You Restore UPVC?

Not sure if your UPVC needs restoring yet? Here are the signs to look out for:

Yellowing or discolouration: White UPVC that's turned yellow or grey is the most obvious sign. This happens when UV rays break down the surface over time.

Dull finish: If your frames have lost their shine and look flat, even after cleaning, they need restoration.

Staining: Green algae stains, black spots, or water marks that won't come off with normal cleaning.
Minor scratches or scuffs. Small surface damage that makes the UPVC look worn.

Faded colour: Coloured UPVC that's lost its vibrancy.

If any of these apply to your home, it's worth getting a quote. The sooner you act, the easier the restoration job will be.

Can All UPVC Be Restored?

Most UPVC can be restored, but there are limits. If the frames are badly warped, cracked, or structurally damaged, replacement might be the only option.

The same goes for failed double glazing. If you've got condensation between the panes, that's a seal problem. We can restore the frames, but the glass units themselves would need replacing.

We're always honest about what's possible. If we think your UPVC is too far gone, we'll tell you. But in most cases, if the frames are still solid, we can bring them back.
